Get ready for Andromeda! Microsoft Phone app updated with Fluent Design

Microsoft is reportedly working on a mobile device supporting dual-screen - Andromeda and reports have already confirmed that the rumored gadget will support the phone's capabilities. Microsoft already updated the People application (contacts management application) with minor improvements and finally, the company updates the app "Phone" on Windows 10 Mobile.

Now, Microsoft Phone app works only on Windows 10 Mobile and it lets you make a regular or video call via the cellular network. Today, Microsoft Phone app updated with Fluent Design, slightly tweaked fonts, and other minor UI improvements.

The new version of the Phone app is 3.43.20002.0 and you can download it if you’re a Fast Ring Insider. The Fluent Design is noticeable when you press and hold the history or dial-pad tab.

The Phone app for Andromeda

Microsoft is working on a foldable mobile-type device codenamed Andromeda and the company has already stopped Windows 10 Mobile operating system. The new improvements is testing by the Microsoft for the Phone app that simply makes sense on a device like Surface Andromeda.

The latest update for Microsoft Phone app comes at a time when more rumors of the highly-buzzed Surface Andromeda are rolling around the web.

Microsoft’s Andromeda won’t work or look like a usual smartphone. Panos Panay, the head of devices at Microsoft, recently confirmed that the company is not working on a Surface Phone.

Andromeda would offer several form factors, including tablet, laptop, and journal mode for easy note-taking with a pen. With launching next year, it makes sense for Microsoft to testing new improvements for the apps and software to prepare for the debut.

With Andromeda, the company will try to continue the trend started with the original Surface. Recent rumours indicated that Microsoft has pushed back the release of the project to the fall of 2019 due to the app gap and software issues.
